My bro in law is after an A4/Passat etc and wants to go see a 115bhp A4. I seem to recall someone telling me the 110/115 engines werent great, and the 100/130s were the pick. Any thoughts? Cheers. The 1.9TD (AAZ) was rated at 75 HP @ 4500 RPM and 114 ft.lbs. at 2500 RPM. I'm sure those are rated at the crankshaft. I don't think engines have been rated at the crank since in the 70's. My Rover had 77 hp stock at the crank. The new 9-3X came with two engine choices: the 1.9 L diesel (producing 180 bhp) and the 2.0 L petrol engine (producing the 210 bhp). Only the 2.0 L petrol engine is equipped with the XWD while the diesel version is available only with front-wheel-drive. 2010. For 2010, the Saab 9-3 Aero's turbocharged V6 was eliminated. I would bet the damage is in the head and with bad timing. Consider getting the head rebuilt (time + $600) and a new matched set of pistons, gasket set, head+rod bolts and new rod bearings. I've owned it for 4 years now and I have always used 10w40 valvoline all climate. I've been told that I should use 5w30 instad of 10w-40. In 10000 km it"s consumption is about 500 ml of oil. For 4 years it haven't has any problems but One of the reasons the 1.9tdi is so bullet proof is it doesn't have a balance shaft! The oil pump on the 1.9tdi has a robust and proven drive. The biggest issue with the 1.9tdi will be finding one at a "reasonable cost " as they are becoming an ever popular buy on the used car scene and are fetching premium prices.
